We have an exciting opportunity for a reliable, flexible and easy-going Support Worker with a “can do” attitude to assist a gentleman with a physical disability based in South Grafton.

Anyone living locally with a background in disability/aged care support would be considered highly desirable, however, reliable and compassionate applicants with a genuine interest are also encouraged to apply

• You follow instructions well and understand the importance of providing individualized support within a home environment. 

• You are fit, healthy and familiar with the manual handling tasks that go hand-in-hand when assisting a person with a disability.  

• You are efficient with time management, as well as, flexible and easy going as things can change in daily life.  

• You are looking for long term employment within a supportive and respectful environment.

About the Role

You will be working closely with the member in their own home providing care and supports which include: 

• Personal care (no catheter or bowel care)

• Assistance in the community (taking Member for a walk one day a week) 

• Manual Handling ( Ceiling hoist transfers, hi-lo bed, wheelchair, slide sheet)

• Assistance / administer medication

• Oxygen / BiPAP support

• Assistance with passive exercises

Support Shifts are flexible and available 10-12 hours per week across 7 days

An excellent casual hourly rate is on offer plus superannuation.

Penalty rates apply for weekend work in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2020.

There is the possibility of days and hours increasing, as well as relief work on occasion for the right person.

Mandatory Criteria

• Criminal Record Check compulsory 

• Current First Aid Certificate

• Car and current Unrestricted Drivers License  

Preferred requirements

• Qualifications or Experience in Aged Care and/or Disability Support
