About the role: We’re looking for an experienced AOD Clinical Lead to lead our Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program (DATP) and Withdrawal Management Program (WMP) across the North Coast.

In this senior clinical role, you’ll guide a multidisciplinary team, shape high-quality AOD services, and make a real difference in people’s lives every day. You will get to

  • Lead and support a team of clinicians, nurses, case managers and peer workers

  • Co-design, deliver and continuously improve DATP and WMP services

  • Ensure strong clinical governance, quality practice and KPI performance

  • Hold a small clinical caseload while providing hands-on leadership

  • Build strong partnerships across health, community and consortia services

  • Travel across the region (Coffs Harbour to Port Macquarie) – vehicle provided

 

About the program: The aim of the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program (DATP) is to achieve improved health and social outcomes for individuals, families, and communities at risk of, or currently affected by, problematic alcohol and other drug use. It supports people at all stages from early intervention to relapse prevention.

Hours and location: The hours are 35 per week. This position is based in Coffs Harbour with some travel to Port Macquarie to meet with staff. The role is hybrid working both our offices and home. A vehicle is available from a central location for work in the community. The role is funded until 30th June 2027 with potential for extension.


About you: Selection criteria:

  1. University level qualifications or higher in Counselling, Nursing, Social Work or Psychology with membership of a peak body such as AHPRA, AASW, PACFA or ACA (Level 3+)

  2. Current driver's licence, a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Working with Children Check

  3. A minimum of five years’ experience in delivery of AOD, mental health and suicide prevention services.

  4. Demonstrated experience in program implementation, co-design, and evaluation.

  5. Demonstrated experience facilitating groups.

  6. Demonstrated experience managing staff.

  7. Established networks and relationships with a with a range of referral services across the local community.

  8. Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft suite, a variety of databases and video conferencing tools such as Teams.

This role will be remunerated at SCHCDS Level 6 ($55-58ph) with access to salary packaging to potentially increase your take home pay by another 5k.
