About us

TCA is a trusted managed IT services provider serving small and medium businesses across the Mid North Coast, North Coast NSW, and Gold Coast corridor. From Coffs Harbour and Alstonville, our team delivers hands-on IT support, cloud services (Microsoft 365 & Azure), business phone systems, and print solutions to clients who rely on us to keep their operations running.

We're a tight-knit, client-focused team and we're growing. If you're a capable IT technician who loves solving real problems for real businesses, this is the role for you.

About the role

You'll be working across a varied client base, on-site visits, remote support, and everything in between. No two days look the same. One morning you're troubleshooting a network issue at a client's office; the afternoon you're setting up a new workstation or helping a business owner understand why their emails aren't working.

This is a client-facing role, so you'll need to be as comfortable talking to a non-technical business owner as you are plugging into a switch.

Key responsibilities

  1. Providing first and second-line technical support to end users via phone, email, and on-site visits

  2. Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals

  3. Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems and software applications

  4. Managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls within network environments

  5. Performing routine maintenance tasks, including system updates, patches, and backups

  6. Documenting technical issues, resolutions, and support activities in the ticketing system

  7. Assisting with network connectivity issues and basic network configuration

  8. Providing technical guidance and training to end users to resolve common issues

  9. Supporting the deployment and rollout of new technology solutions

  10. Contributing to the team's knowledge base and best practice documentation

What we're looking for

  1. A relevant IT qualification or certification, such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent experience

  2. Proven experience in an IT support or help desk role, ideally in a small to medium-sized business environment

  3. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in IT support or help desk roles is required

  4. Strong technical knowledge of Windows operating systems

  5. Familiarity with Active Directory, user account management, and basic network concepts

  6. Experience with ticketing systems and IT service management tools

  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think logically through complex technical issues

  8. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple, user-friendly language

  9. A professional and customer-focused approach with patience and empathy when dealing with users

  10. The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

  11. Time management skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively

  12. Willingness to learn and stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
