In this
role you will be responsible for the supervision of packing operations, by ensuring the fruit is
packed, cooled and stored within benchmark times to maximise quality, yield and
operational efficiency.
What You
Will Be Doing
- Prioritise efficiencies of pack line, packing staff and pack shed
procedures (from unloading fruit to cooling and storage) to ensure maximum
quality and yield
- Develop and implement new procedures in line with WHS and QA
specifications
- Tracking and reporting of packing performance and wastage
- Performance management of pack shed employees
- Ensure WHS and QA standards are always adhered to.
- Constant pack line and employee monitoring whilst the pack lines
are in operation
- Communicate regularly with Post Harvest Harvest Manager and
coordinator regarding fruit quality, quantity and start time.
- Ensure daily, weekly, monthly analysis of packing efficiencies,
quality, stock, pack plans
- Organise pack line start ups, packing plans, customer orders,
timesheets
About You
- Experience in a fruit
packing operation - desirable
- Working knowledge of
cool room management
- Experience or a keen
interest in the horticulture and produce industry.
- Demonstrated strong
leadership skills – ability to lead a team to success
- Ability to listen and
communicate effectively & relate to a wide variety of cultures
- Ability to identify
opportunities to maximise efficiencies
- Awareness and respect
for compliance, food safety, and quality assurance requirements
- Excellent planning and
organisation skills - ability to take responsibility and time manage.
- Strong computer skills
- specifically word & excel
- Ability to work a 7-day week packing plan with rotating days off.
- Driver’s licence
