Surf Life Saving NSW is seeking an energetic and adaptable professional with strong communication and project coordination skills to provide support to assist our Clubs across the State.

This role will provide capability support to identified priority clubs working closely with them to develop and implement action plans to improve overall club health, patrolling strength, and long-term sustainability.

Some of the key duties will include:

  • Work closely with identified priority clubs within Surf Life Saving NSW to understand their current capability and overall club health.

  • With the support of the Club Services Manager, facilitate structured planning conversations with clubs to identify priority actions aligned to:

o   Patrolling capability and Lifesaving delivery

o   Membership growth and retention

o   Training and education capability and needs

o   Youth engagement and progression

o   Club governance and leadership

  • Provide hands-on support to allocated clubs with the execution of the action plans.

  • Lead weekly engagement and regular meetings with club executives.

  • Support development of club executive capability, governance, and leadership.

  • Support clubs with adherence to operational requirements.

  • Support delivery of state-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment to club needs and action plans.

  • Monitor and report on key metrics including: Club Health Scores, Membership Trends, Engagement and Participation levels.

  • Foster strong relationships with club and branch leadership and members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

  • Collaborate with other stakeholders within Surf Life Saving NSW to leverage resources and expertise in supporting priority clubs.

 What you will need:

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, particularly in volunteer environments.

  • Resilience and adaptability when working with complex or resistant stakeholders.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Experience in project coordination, including project planning and delivery.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, identifying trends and finding practical solutions.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Advanced computer skills particularly Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

  • Flexible attitude to work, including evening and/or weekend work

  • Willingness to undertake frequent travel within NSW including overnight stays

  • Current drivers licence

Location: This position is primarily remote, with SLSNSW Headquarters located in Belrose. The role requires regular travel across the North Coast region, along with periodic travel to SLSNSW HQ as required.

Position: Full Time. Contract role through to June 2027.
