Restoration Technician – Hands-On Role with Purpose

Location: COFFS HARBOUR


Position: Full-time, immediate start.

Looking for a hands-on job where no two days are the same?

Join Steamatic as a Restoration Technician and help restore homes and businesses after floods, fires, mould and other damage. This isn't your everyday cleaning job, you'll be using specialised equipment, demolition techniques and professional restoration processes to help rebuild properties and support people during challenging times.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be involved in both cleaning and structural restoration, including:

  • Water and flood damage restoration

  • Fire and smoke damage cleaning

  • Mould remediation support

  • Strip-outs of water-damaged materials (e.g. plasterboard, insulation, cabinetry)

  • Flood wash-downs and pressure cleaning of affected areas

  • Setting up and monitoring drying equipment such as air movers and dehumidifiers

  • Carpet and upholstery cleaning

  • Assisting with containment set-ups and site preparation

  • Operating industry-leading restoration equipment and tools

  • Working alongside a supportive team to complete projects safely and efficiently

  • Delivering excellent customer service to clients during what can be a stressful time

  • Following all workplace health, safety and environmental procedures


What We're Looking For

  • Experience in cleaning, restoration, construction, or a similar hands-on role (preferred but not essential)

  • Comfortable with physical work, tools and working in affected or damaged environments

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in doing quality work

  • Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude

  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour

  • MUST HAVE A CURRENT DRIVER'S LICENCE

  • Good time management, reliability and a strong work ethic

  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required

  • Police check and working with children check are required

  • Willing to participate in random drug and alcohol testing.

As Steamatic operates within the emergency services sector, there may be occasions, particularly during major events such as floods, fires, or storms, where additional hours are required. Any such hours will be compensated in accordance with the terms of the applicable Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and employment conditions.
